I've seen at least 4-5 dogs on Lavelle road in bangalore with half of one ear cut, just as you mentioned. I asked a few people about this too &amp;amp; found out that when they neuter the dogs they cut one ear so as to identify which ones have gone thru the process. Its a slightly better version than your story, and i guess i want to believe this one more.. That being said, a friend of mine has a dog that was actually tortured, due to which the poor thing doesnt bark or have normal canine behavior at all - very submissive and just sits in a corner.
